FMC-1000 DAQ board with 1GSPS AD9680-1000 ADCs and 1GSPS DAC38J82 DACs on FMC
May 2015.
We are excited that the first FMC-1000 board has arrived at Entegra. This board makes use of the new 14 bit 1 GSPS Adc from Analog Devices, the AD9680-1000 which incorporates 2 analogue converters and 4 Digital Downconverters. The analogue performance is looking good and the final board rev is expected to match the AD9680-1000 datasheet ac performance.
The FMC module also has two channels of 1GSPS Digital to Analogue conversion using the Texas Instruments DAC38J82, and its own clock source using a PLL with internal and external reference.
The FMC-1000 may be used on our Kintex7 carriers, ePC-K7 and mini-K7.
Multiple cards can be synchronized for sampling. Applications for this board are many because it provides a new depth of dynamic range at high bandwidths, so this can include:
- Radar
- Beamforming
- Software Radio
- Signal Intelligence
The FMC-1000 power consumption is 6W for typical operation. The module may be conduction cooled using VITA20 standard and a heat spreading plate. Ruggedization levels for wide-temperature operation from -40 to +85C operation and 0.1 g2/Hz vibration. Conformal coating is available.
Software tools for Innovative carrier cards include host development include C++ libraries and drivers for Windows and Linux. Application examples demonstrating the module features are provided.
